  • 6 collage credits or 72-90 class hours;

  • Classes need to be taken at an accredited post-secondary institution;

  • The classes may be credited, non-credited (hours) or audited.

  • Classes can be: in person, hybrid or online (since 7/1/2023 one online class per semester is allowed by the State Department rule. Semester: Fall - August to December; Spring - January to May; Summer - June to August);

  • The Host Family must pay up to $500 per year to complete the educational component;

  • The Host Family must support the Au Pair’s completion of the educational requirement (transportation & reasonable schedule flexibility);

  • Education component needs to be full field in order to remained in good standing with the program (extend for a 2nd year or be allowed to become Au Pair’s in the future again);

  • Deadline for submitting the proof of completion of the educational requirements:

    • Non-extending Au Pairs - end of the program year;

    • Extending Au Pairs - end of the 11th month on the program;
